RUNNING SHOES

Shoes are your most important piece of equipment and it is essential that you choose the shoe that suits you the best. Selecting the correct shoe can make a huge difference to your running, your training and your times. There are three main categories of shoes: cushioned, stability and motion-control. When deciding which is most suited for you the following can be used as a rough guide.

The Normal Foot - normally lands on the outside of the heel and rolls inwards slightly to absorb the shock. This efficient style does not need a motion-control running shoe.

The Flat Foot - has a low arch. Normally strikes on the outside of the heel and rolls inwards quite markedly. Selected a motion-control or high stability shoe with firm midsole. Avoid highly curved or cushioned running shoes.

The High Arch Foot - this foot does not absorb shock well. Select a flexible highly cushioned shoes. Avoid motion-control or high stability running shoes.
